What is SA Cowboy Dressage World ?

A group of Cowboy Dressage® enthusiasts in South Africa

SA Cowboy Dressage World  is a group of Cowboy Dressage® enthusiasts in South Africa that have come together, in conjunction with Cowboy Dressage® World, in an effort to introduce South African riders to the Cowboy Dressage® Mission and Vision and to grow the discipline internationally.

We arrange virtual and live gatherings in accordance with Cowboy Dressage® World Rules and Guidelines where members can come together as a community and compete in the different Cowboy Dressage® divisions:

• Cowboy Dressage® Walk, Jog, Lope

• Challenge

• Vaquero

• Gaited

• Partnership

• Freestyle

• Liberty

 

Horses and riders of all ages, disciplines, and capabilities are welcome!

Gatherings – How do they work?

Cowboy Dressage® involves using a court to perform the official Tests. Visit CDW for more info and videos.

Virtual Gatherings consist of riders recording their Cowboy Dressage tests from anywhere! This was developed to allow riders from all corners of South Africa to partake. Participants need to have their own court setup with correct markers and poles (where needed) as per court measurements. Note the  rules for how to take your video.

Tack and Dress code

Kindly refer to CDW rules and guideline for western tack rules. Cowboy Dressage® World has kindly allowed dispensation for us to allow English tack for new participants (dress need to be western!) as a way of introducing and growing this discipline. See Rules for more information.

How to start?

Simply register on www.sacowboydressageworld.co.za (free)! Now you can enter your desired gatherings on the “Shows and Events” page. Take note of rules and conditions.

Results

Once you submit and pay for your entries, your videos will be judged by our judge(s) and your tests will be sent to you and scores posted on our leader boards. Winning tests will be sent to CDW to be evaluated. Scores go toward the end-of year Championship Gathering points so enter now!
